The brand seems to know how to market itself..

Going by the supportive articles in watch media and forums and in print media like NYTimes, it is a credit to the brand that has demonstrated ability to positively leverage the power of electronic media and the internet visual media.
Take a historic design evocative of a couple of marquee brands and tinker a bit; plonk in a $30 mechaquartz from Seiko; make the cases and printed dials in Schenzen and assemble them. Lo and behold, another watch is born...
I have nothing against this kickstarter; and the brand has been quite candid about how their watches are getting manufactured & assembled etc.. So they must be congratulated for being transparent.
But IMHO, it would not qualify as a serious horological initiative but merely one that suggests smart entrepreneurship and good business sense, going by the debt-free kickstarter funding approach and the sensible price.
Perhaps the next would be a miyota cased offering and a gradual evolution from there.
