As some of you may recall, I mentioned in a post the other week that my new Albishorn Type 10 exhibited a power reserve of 43 hours, compared to the movement’s specification of 65 hours. Well, I am pleased to issue a correction on that bit of information, as I am now observing a very satisfactory and consistent run time of 60 ~ 61 hours.
As not a whole lot of time has passed since that initial NWA post of mine, I am confident that the improved performance isn't due to any sort of break-in period, but rather merely to my having initially been too conservative in winding (too cautious of over-winding) the watch. A slightly embarrassing case of new watch coddling !
Before I got things sorted out, I had a number of e-mail exchanges with the owner of Albishorn, Sebastien, who was incredibly responsive, helpful and generous with this time – he even went so far as to test ALL of the watches that he had in stock, just in case, and confirmed that all of them performed close to specifications.
Even when it became apparent to both of us that my reaching out to him about my watch having a short-power reserve had been both premature and unwarranted, he was thoughtful and gracious.
If only all manufacturers responded with such alacrity, sincerity and consideration for their customer’s/client’s concerns !
There are many more positives to mention, but so I don’t start sounding too much like an advert, I'll just finish here with a few additional photos of this fun, cool and rewarding watch.
Please feel free to PM me anytime if you have any questions.
