It was an extrodianary time and the in many respects the beginnings of the aircraft carriers that would dominate into the 21st Century. Thank you for your interests in these 100 year old watches. So much knowledge has been lost about them and these heroic...  

I assume that like many others here reading this post the early 1900s story of Japanese and British collaborations is new to me. Always learning.

Thank you for your comments! Yes, the Sempill Mission and it's equavalent French Mission for the Imperial Japanese Army pilots are pretty much lost histories. We can speculate the reasons why this history is not shared, but I think WW2 twenty years later ...
