Hi Nick,
Thinking of re-launching the Orloff Watch Co.? Looking for a little back history for the Marketing Department? You wouldn’t be the first. J
In all seriousness, it’s a nice looking vintage bi-compax chronograph from the 1950’s. I love the brown patinated dial and the red and blue accents on the telemeter and tachymeter scales.
I went through the few reference books I had and there is nothing to be found about your namesake Manufacture. And you have already searched the WWW. There were a lot of small Manufactures at the time, as well as watch/jewellery stores, particularly in the USA that imported Swiss watches and put their own ‘brand” on them - Tourneau in New York for example.
Regarding the movement, the Valjoux 92 was produced in the 1950’s and 1960’s and is a 13 Lignes (29.5 x 6.0mm) column wheel chronograph movement with swivel pinion beating at 18,000vph, 17 Jewels and a PR of 39h.
I hope your search is successful. Keep us informed.
Regards
Andrew
