Platinum...is it more desirable?
Looking and reading posts here, I can see many loves this noble metal.
It’s stealth, pure and the presence, aka weight is addictive.
The spot price is lesser than Au but as many had discussed, it’s the work that’s determining the higher premium.
I also like Pt watches and is working to add more but slowly.
Coincidentally, I have only 3 YG, 3 RG and 3 Pt for now...most of my others are WG and SS.

I am not so sure Platinum commands a premium over steel, well, at least not always. In some cases, steel is more expensive, on the second market. BUT... I agree with you, platinum is my favorite.
With Tantalum, over steel. White Gold comes after. Its extra brightness, its density, its noblesse... I am a big fan! Best, Nicolas
In the secondary market, all bets are off....even rusty SS are higher priced than precious metals, lol....
Tantalum is also interesting, and brand makes a difference...Omega Tantalum is not the same as the FPJ Tantalum...
That Lange is beautiful. The dial treatment and decoration is tops. Amazing in PT.
And I bet the heft of the watch balances it well.

Platinum is far less expensive than gold...
...especially when the purity of the metal is considered. Yes, it is more difficult to machine, but the premium over gold is usually very hefty.
Maybe it’s how “rare” or harder to mine as well...
It does look good though....and the fact that it can be laser repaired is good.
That is what I’m suspecting too...
But who’s to know how much is out there? Just like countries keep printing money, who knows how much is out there flowing 😂
