Although as a dive watch enthusiast besides the obvious water resistance, the most underappreciated benefit of a dive watch is the ability to time events up to 60 minutes when you want to and did not anticipate such need. My bezel isn't going anywhere, I can already tell I wouldn't have it when needed.
