Horological Meandering

Nice old timepieces..

Hi Tibomathieu - there are many sources of information on old watches in the internet if you google around.  If you are particularly interested in pocket watches try google for "Cooksey Shugat".  I am not sure if providing the link here is appropriate.

Anyway, I like the "Cartier" like watch and if the movement is OK, perhaps with a thorough service and cleaning it would be an excellent piece to put on a lady's wrist.  Perhaps have someone opening it up to look at the movement.  Could make much from the look from the outside.

The lepine pocket watch look like a size 12 or 14.  Rather heavy wear on the casing and could also have some brassing on the edges.  But nice hands and is the dial enamel? Can't be sure from the photo but it looks clean without visible hairlines cracks which are often found on old pwatches.  Can you make out the engraving on the case back? could be the initials of previous owner.

Would be prudent to have a competent watch maker look at the inside these watches to see if they are worth further works.
