It is ok. The case of the 39mm watch is actually more complex than the 40mm standard model due to its curvature. Nowadays, there are so many wonderful watches out there and with people like Kari Voutilainenfor example who is able to make me a watch in any metal and any dial and even a piece unique, I know all I need to do is decide what dial I would like and how to finance the purchase (which I probably the most challenging bit!)

recommendations for photogenic movements?
By: Chromatic Fugue : January 19th, 2017-21:02
I'm basing my next watch purchase on the following criteria. The watch must (1) have a display back (2) featuring a movement as beautiful as this FPJ movement (3) at a price point similar to this FPJ. Any recommendations? Photos encouraged!...
Check out Montblanc.

The Montblanc 1858 chronographs (be it RG, Steel or now Bronze) are extremely photogenic; manual wind chrono, finely finished and very large - decently priced as well.
Stunning model

I love everything about that VC except for the 41 mm diameter, which is just too big for my wrist. But I agree it\'s a masterpiece.
Lange..

One of my favourite brands. Such beautiful movements!
My suggestion!
By: sham1 : January 20th, 2017-01:00
As you have stated your price point, Voutilainen, Gronefeld and Romain Gauthier (among the best finishers of movements) would be automatically disqualified! I am in agreement with anyone who suggested the Montblanc 1858 chronograph for the beauty of the m...
Thank you Alkiro!

When I spoke to Vanessa Monsetel, CEO of Laurent Ferrier on Tuesday, she confirmed that they were unable to make a steel round watch for me. Perhaps it is because I requested for one in the 39mm case and she might be able to oblige in the standard 40mm ca...

And in response to a couple of points. First, it wasn\'t a trick question: that\'s my FPJ (and my photo). That watch is in the shop, which has made me long for another photogenic movement. I have a Patek 5107, but that was a surprising (to me) step down i...

Here's something that I like - Pascal Coyon watches
By: socabaptist : January 21st, 2017-19:59
You can specify finishing and how you want the dial to look, but I think the wait is quite long for one of his pieces. Just a suggestion and he's a lot cheaper than some of the other suggestions. Pascal Coyon is a French watchmaker which is creating some ...
