Left from habit...

Dec 23, 2010,14:36 PM

I am left handed (actually both handed, but born-leftie), and I wear it on the left wrist, totally out of habit when I started wearing watches as a kid...

But I think it might be more comfortable on your dominant wrist because it is stronger, and so with the weight of a watch there, it actually can handle it better than a weaker limb. That's just my personal opinion anyway.

Only other thing I would mention is that with most watches, the crown is on the right hand side, so convenience-wise it seems more natural to make adjustments/winding if it's worn on the left hand side, using your right hand. But that's just a design bias.

The fact is there really isn't a "better" side as there's no right or wrong way of wearing a watch. It's really what makes YOU feel better.

Hi Darren, I enjoy wearing watches on either wrist, or both at the same time, and swapping around. You get a slightly different view, and it ‘feels’ different to be carrying a watch on your dominant or non-dominant arm. Regarding wrist size, it is normal ...

But I don't recommend this ...

But I don't recommend doing a "Hayek". It felt heavy and uncomfortable to me, and I don't like watches slipping and sliding around, which is inevitable with this configuration. Regards Andrew...

very funny andrew

It is easier to actuate a chronograph with your right hand, irrespective of dominance I believe. Although the alternative would be to get an Amvox II! But otherwise I usually make time and other settings with the watch off my wrist. Regarding the weight o...

Good idea!

I should hit the gym more often! The only sport I've been playing is tennis and that actually widen the "strength" difference between my 2 arms even more! Or I could train up my right arm by doing it Hayek-style on that side ;D Thanks Andrew and I wish yo...

I don't think there is a convention.I am right handed and normally wears watch on left wrist but have tried it on my right.Because I am right handed and that is my dominant hand, I am more likely to hit my watch doing day to day things with my right hand,...

right handed, but right wrist...
