Out of curiosity, what would stop you from wearing the chopard as a daily? It's not clear to me the three models discussed are that different, besides maybe the absence of a rotating bezel on the Chopard.

My original daily was my 2005 16710 GMT that had been put away. Age and vision had made the dial hard to read and a bit too cluttered for me. I was originally looking for a modern "maxi" dialed watch. I've been wearing the AE daily so far, but I do worry ... 

My personal choice would probably be to stick to the Alpine Eagle and wait for a no-date Sub or Ti YM42. But it depends very much on your lifestyle. Because of its price and build quality, the BB58 is more of a GADA watch than the AE and even the YM42 or ...

In the end, the answer is "all of the above". I picked up the BB58 and will continue on with my planned Rolex purchases down the road.
