It's surprising how many different lugs there are. Some of the ones you've shown are wonderful particularly the Patek. The only watch I have with unusual lugs is a vintage Gubelin with cow's horns or, as Nicholas calls them "Cornes de Vaches". Sounds better in French. Regards Kev.

By: Alkiro1 : August 20th, 2017-03:08
Hi all, We discussed last week about the nicest rotor ever made (please see link below). Regarding the success of this thread, I wanted to know your thoughts about another essential part of our beloved tick-tock... the lugs! www.watchprosite.com A...

Even if your photos present many styles, I am in love with the PP 5975 lugs. My choice and 3 photos to explain why: Photos are better than words sometimes ;-) Cheers, Patrickh ...
My pleasure!

You posted a stunning selection of lugs. Despite it is a tough choice my favourite are the flame lugs of the 2431... pure class. Best.
Many thanks Patrick for your input

Do you know if there's a specific word for these lovely PP lugs (double stair? That could be nice)? Best wishes Alkiro
"Double stair and diving"

A CLASSIC DESIGN REVISITED In a perfect example of the Patek Philippe style, the case also reinvents tradition with great creative flair. It appears classic at first glance, but a closer look reveals original details of construction, such as the double lu...

Patek 2452
By: MarkTheTime : August 20th, 2017-06:24
Patrick's are very sharp, and seem to be a modern twist on these iconic "stepped" (?) lugs from the Patek 2452 of the 1940s/50s. Love them! ...

Some of my favorite lugs.

I think what all these lugs have in common is a certain "curvy" quality to the lower portion of the lugs. ...

To be honest with you, I discovered at the DB manufacture that lugs could be flexible π³ So well thought out in my opinion. Regarding KV lugs, of course they're top nice... like all the parts of this timepiece π Thanks for your input. Best wishes Alkiro ...

Can I humbly suggest the 349SPORT's lugs?
By: pureswissmade349 : August 21st, 2017-02:45
Hi all, congratulations on this really interesting post! I'd like to humbly suggest the lugs I've designed for the 349SPORT. They're asymmetric and I find them really sensual in spite of their "sharpness". Please enjoy some pictures. For the ones who know...
Thank you for your answer and input
By: Alkiro1 : August 21st, 2017-04:20
If you designed them, that's more than cool! Really nice. They're "sharpest" but make me think of the "snake fang" ones. Best wishes Alkiro
"Snake Fang"? Maybe, but only seen from above.
By: pureswissmade349 : August 21st, 2017-11:57
Dear Alkiro, thank you for your comments. The 349SPORT's lugs are quite complex, but in a subtle and understated way. I wanted their shape to be interesting both in a 3D view and also touching them with my fingers. I tried to obtain these goals by using a...

Regarding PSM, I'm in love of his rotors, less about the lugs which are "too straight" in my opinion. Nevertheless, they have a true identity which is really significant for me. Best wishes Alkiro
