As for the current stainless steel craze regarding a few particular models, what can you do. I have a policy of not going above retail for any current watch, and that includes anything from AP. I have been on a white dial Daytona list with the local Denver AD, and that is proving fruitless as well. I feel my years of previous business should keep me on the confirmed list, they prefer to dangle them to other current customers spending gobs on other things. That is not how I operate in life or business. Watches are a top passion in my life, but generally a low priority.

It was only 3 years ago that I walked into an AD and saw these two on sale for list price... I went with a different option at the time (which I do not regret one bit) But now that I am looking for a stainless steel bracelet watch, it hurts a little to kn...

You can get JLC Polaris models at MSRP. Solid watches from a legendary watchmaker with in house movements. If you want to go more “high end” then Vacheron’s Overseas line is an option.
