I never thought I would buy...

A diamond studded Franck Muller but this is what you get when you drag your wife along to auction previews. Despite my teasing I do like how it looks on her and she adores it. It’s is a ref 902 and the 23mm size is much nicer and more elegant than some of the bigger FM’s I have seen. Model is from 2010 but was sold new old stock with a newly dated receipt from a local AD and an FM international warranty.

Question for the group, since I have bought all my previous watches preowned I am not as familiar with what the warranty would include. I assume this is a bit of a stretch but despite being unworn the leather lining on the watch strap must have dried out over time and is flaking in a few spots. You can see one of the spots is under the tip of the excess flap if you zoom in on the last photo. The wife wants to replace it regardless for a lighter color but would I have any chance at claiming that a manufacturers defect and getting it replaced? I assume not but figured I’d see if anyone knew for sure!
