Preface- this great watch site(PuristSPro) is informative, fun, useful, amusing and an all around positive to a watch enthusiast. I believe though that this and only a few others are truly "conflict" free sites.
Issue- I think that certain other watch related web sites-- those that do not have forums(but may allow the ability for the user to comment)- sites that themselves also sell used watches(the site itself)-- tend to write articles that present baloney articles concerning the very used watches they themselves are selling- and I think it presents essentially its own Shill. And Yes its a Shill even if the article itself acknowledges that its selling the very watch. Self identifying the Shill does not eliminate the conflict. Its easy to write and article and not also sell the watch-- unless you want to be viewed as less than objective.
Example-- An article that says something like -- "Is this fleiger model from brand X the next rare must have piece for the collector?"
and then the site just happens to be selling that very same "rare and collectible" model at an inflated price!
Its also not cool to sell vintage pieces that also happened to have been featured on another web site- one in which your site is quite friendly with- this is no coincidence- but is really rather obvious.
Be objective and informative or don't pretend to be please. Rant over.
