Breguet became a factory, but he had maybe 24 or 26 specialists in their fields - including those not working under his own roof.

Not unusual, but VERY usual in those days.

I am sure that there were Breguets (mostly) hand-made by himself - but how often were these prototypes for production?

Now I must finally buy and read George Daniels' definitive work on Breguet !!!

But I am sure that there were watchmakers that had to master all the required mechanical skills just to be part of his team.

Could he make a watch "from scratch"? I am sure he could - and did!
