Even brand new Pateks (eg the 5110) had dust on the dial side.

These things happen even to the best. The last time, I found hair, red in color, short..as if from a cleaning cloth, on the dial side of a Patek at the retailer. It happens and no system is 100% effective. This message has been edited by bernard cheong on 2007-07-20 17:19:13

Don't be fooled that the image says "microdisplay-clean-room", it's really "Watches-R-Us" and that's me in the middle. This is in the case polishing room which is why we took off our breathing appratuses and just wore simple face masks (the standards are ...
Dust in movement
By: mfly : July 20th, 2007-10:19
Hi John Thanks for your reply. When I had taken the case back and anti magnetic cover off my Omega Speedmaster Pro to admire the movement, if dust had gotten in do you think I would notice right away? What kind of trouble could result? It is running fine ...
