But I think your examples are a bit different from the one I started with: the couple I am acquainted with wears the same watch, just in different sizes like other couples wear the same sweater (just in different sizes, usually 
)
I think, the same look, that is what I thought to be special.
To wear a watch from the same brand or even two different looking watches of the same category (like JLC reverso for example) reqiures less self-confidence IMO.

couples who wear watches in tandem actually. This has several different possible combinations. Same watch/different size, same brand/lower complication for the wife, same watch different metal. My idea is that this somehow shows a sweetness, a secret bond...
