Breitling Aerospace Battery Change & Cleaning
I had forgotten (over the past 4-5 years) what a bother it can be to change the Breitling’s battery.
First step, clean off the bracelet and case with Rodico or better yet, an old toothbrush.

Might as well do the wet-suit expansion flap too.

I unfasten the center buckle of the bracelet to gain access to the back of the watch, but I don't normally take the bracelet off the case.
I use a watch case knife to snap the back open (notice the scars on the lower right side in this photo). You can also see debris around the edges that I was unable to remove with the caseback on.
I bought this watch (used) in 2006 so this is probably its 5-6th battery, and I'm not bothered by scars that can't be seen with the overlapping caseback in place.

Unless you do them regularly, this watch is impossible to set from a battery change without instructions, a good light source, etc.

It's impossible to snap this thick titanium caseback onto the case without a press, at least for my aged fingers. I did it with the bracelet unconnected (but had to 'do it again' for the camera).

I have to turn the bezel 45° when setting the watch because the marker tabs interfere with the intense crown rotation procedure. It’s now showing Monday, 2nd of the 12th month as I did the calendar first.

The hard bit for me is getting the hands and the digital display synchronized to accurate time source (The 2nd time zone, countdown time and chrono don't need to be set now)

Nailed it (oops, except the hands are 30 sec behind the digital; you can tell because the minute hand does not move smoothly; it jumps half-way every 30 seconds)
Another minute or two fidding and it’s happy and running nicely. Quick washing of hands and I'm back to work in the kitchen.

Thanks for reading.
