Horological Meandering

Are these watches too much of the same or do they have a place side by side in a collection? To be honest, I was a bit concerned before I picked up my ROC that the Laureato might look too similar,especially with both having the blue dial. This concern was...  

One thing I'd say is that the Royal Oak is ALL sharp angularity, whereas the Laureato is much more soft curves (this extends to cases, bracelets, and dial design).

Yes,the Laureato is for sure the "dressier" watch as compared to the more "brutal" design of the Royal Oak.

Let’s make no secret here, i fall for the Laureato. Albeit i like the Oak also. The Laureato is sweet. It was off of my radar, but i wil look again if the prices are normalized when covid madness hurt many watches and locations. Two watched which are simi... 

But I have given up to fight against my desire for blue dialed watches . And yes, we are all waiting for the price madness to go away....

Dress, casual chic, casual and sports. So for me the GP is a dress watch and the AP could fall into either the casual chic or casual category. So yes, both watches could be in a collection.

I guess that goes back to the former owner of GP,the Macaluso family, that reintroduced this model some years ago with typical Italian chic !!!

While they have integrated bracelet, you could also decide to wear one of them with a strap no?

With these kind of watches (my Overseas is the same),the bracelet wraps much better around my wrist than straps which have the tendency to fight my wrist.

...in almost every "hard fact", the Overseas is the better watch : movement finish,WR,anti-magnetic,bracelet finish/comfort/quick adjustement,...

... personally, I would go for the Laureato, if am looking for a sports watch in steel. The AP RO looks more like a sports watch, but - as far as I know - is only half as waterproof as the GP (AP: 50m and GP: 100m). So - for me - the Laureato is more prac... 

But I am not an RO fan, just respect it for what it is. The Laureto obviously got its "idea" from an RO but I think GP executed it extremely well... I am almost thought about pulling the trigger on the Laureto but still a little out of price range... Both... 

I can only speak of the all ceramic Laureato skeleton I have, which is so comfortable. It is extremely light weight, and come to think of it, I have never even tried on an all steel Laureato. The GP is really a tremendous value when compared to the AP, wh... 

You are right:in terms of quality/price/fun ratio,the Laureato is second to your ceramic skeleton is a pure dream watch!!

I think that there are collectors that are hoarders, and they will wanna have as many as possible just to have, if that is the case then you should have both. But if your the type that you have 1 watch per style and 1 watch per color or whatever way your ... 

At the earlier stages of my watch collecting I strongly limited myself to the 1 watch per style/color now this limitation is less important to me and I hardly ever let watches go for as long as I still enjoy wearing Laureato and Royal Oak still give me ...
