The P word was out of my vocabulary for almost 4 years. Prior to that I had a few of the big LEs which kind of look ridiculous on my skinny wrist. I only became interested in this piece mainly due to its moderate size, 42mm and for the brush titanium casi...

Only the gold piece has the swan's neck regulator. Wasn't sure about the metal until I saw that. Brilliant choice!

.. what is the ref. # of this P? Slim case, right? Minute train missing is one very negative, though. Still, nice movement, I agree and very, very nice looking. Water resistant for 100mm is nice, even not for diving (I don't dive anyway), it can be really...

Although I must say I was extremely close to the DSA ! 2 very different choices in my books. Something about the 42mm Rad, sits very well and elegantly on the wrist, a dressy tool watch, an oxymoron that works IMO. Having a great heart, one frm house of P...  

Agree with what you say about the Pam. Both are different and yet evoke a similiar emotion when I wear them. That's why your views on each are so important. Thanks for your contribution and the nice pic. Best fernando

They are watches ( 1 ), their respective brands belong to the Richemond Group ( 2 ), and they both have non turning bezels, which is weird for diving watches. And 4 ( I missed that point ) they both are water resisstant to 100 meters. Now, the Panerai add...  

They both win my heart equally at this point in time but when the novelty of the Pam (a recent addition) wears off, it may change. I never knew a dive watch should be automatic. What about the vintage Pams used by the Italian divers, weren't they manual w... 

The seal between the corwn and the case. If you have to wind it every 24 hours, you damage the seal faster than with an auto movement or a 8 Days power reserve. Yes, you're right, the first Rolex Panerai watches ( 2533 / 3646 ) housed a Role Cortebert man...

We keep talking about the PAM piaget based movement. Search around, and compare the two..the PAM is so lacking in finishing, esp relative to the Altiplano 838p caliber which it is based on. I also dislike PAM calling it a in house movement, whilst it's no...

so it would be the JLC for me. there are very few Panerai's i like. i love the cali dial, but dont like the price and the relatively cheap movement underneath. i do like their in house calibres, but i dont think i would buy one. best G
