Yes, my very first,

A Tag Heuer Grand Carrera, on which I subsequently lost a bundle when I traded it in to help fund the purchase of a Rolex GMT 16700. Funny thing is that Tag still looks prettier to me in photos than some other watches I own, but it just never felt right. I now regard the purchase of that watch as a beginners mistake and a lesson learned.

Simple question have you ever bought a watch you had second thoughts about? Now even though I didn't spend much I have to say, One of my worst buys was An Invicta Russian Diver Quinotaur 4342, I had seen it in person and thought huh that's cool so even th...

I'm sure every member of this forum at one time or another reconsidered a purchase. Taste is ever evolving. Just sold two watches--both which I considered grails at one point. Warm regards, Jason

May I ask which one's?

If its OK, I was just wondering which watches you sold that you thought were grails?

It's human nature. You wonder if you did the right thing; you could have bought another; you could have paid your taxes; fed your family; saved the cash. The feeling goes away. Mike

Very true human nature... [nt]

Omega Planet Ocean XL (45.5 mm) It was great-in-concept but on my wrist it struck me as oversized. So I eventually traded it in for a 42 mm Planet Ocean. Then I sold the Planet Ocean and now own a UTS 1000m v2 GMT. My preference continues to evolve toward...

I JUST DID!!!

I just bought a Audemars Piguet ROO and I'm having second thoughts because I think it looks too big on my 6.5 inch wrist. I just ordered a custom strap from AP to see if that might make me change my opinion about the watch but if it doesn't I'm trading it...

.. and I totally agree with Jason, you'll be in good company here because taste is ever evolving... the longer we've collected the more pieces we would have thought about (and let go of)... Each one is a point on a learning curve. From my short experience...

after wearing it a few times, It's now one of my favourite watches. It's unique crank-rod handle (which could be seen with the see through caseback) winds the watch efficiently. Keeps time very well and won praises often.

Never!

This is something that never happened to me. On the contrary, all the watches I bought have grown on me so much, I like them more as time passes. I guess this would have something to do with the fact that I never bought a watch for the first decade of my ...
