While I think it's something to look at when a watch misbehaves, it's certainly not something I worry about.

All my watches behave very well and I don't protect them from anything magnetic. Of course operating a MRI machine or something like it, I'd probably research it, and it's affects on me as well.

The last i concern about watches is magnetism.

When there is a problem with your watch you can allways demagnetize the watch yourself, you can buy a demagnetizer online for aprox 15 till 20β¬ . Lots of vids about how to do it yourself,
