All right, so, as I promised, I did my research on the ancestor of the Doxa SUB 200. In fact, it seems that there was one early dive watch, prior to the celebrated Doxa SUB 300, in the early sixties. The watch received a case from Huguenin Frรจres, as seve...

The SUB 300, of course,

but, it seems that the 11804-4 came first. Many people believe that the one you have posted was the first Doxa dive watch and the 11804-4 is often neglected and forgotten. I didn't know it existed at all either. Someone from this forum should take a chanc...

It's actually a 50 years birthday present for one of my greatest friends! I've just bought the watch and the rubber strap! I love buying watches for my beloved people because I love watches (the people too) but cannot own more than three or four at a time...

I'll be keeping an eye out for one . . .

. . . as well as the other personally compelling divers, Omega 300s and Eterna Kontikis. The integration of the Doxa's crown into the case is especially appealing. Art

Wow,

I had no idea Eterna was back!!! The chronograph looks stunning! I'll keep an eye on all that stuff! Thanks for sharing the info Art

This is the Eterna Kontiki . . .

. . . I'm referring to. Ca 1965; all had date apertures, to the best of my knowledge. MattS had a later version, but the one I find most appealing is the Mk II version shown above. I'd add one to my collection in a heartbeat under the right circumstances....

Now I get it!

I thought you were talking about the reissues!!! There are many models of the KonTiki, with even different cases. But this one you're posting really looks like it shared the same Huguenin Frรจres case with the Shark-Hunter, the Scafograf, and the 300s. Wou...
