This promises to be a really great book
Mar 08, 2019,02:19 AM
Martijn has not only spent many weeks locally to interview people involved with Enicar, but researched documents leaving no stone unturned (he even got building permissions from the local authorities to get a better idea how the production facilities of Enicar were arranged).
With his vast personal collection of Enicar watches, he was able to dismantle and professionally photograph absolute rarities like the world time model presented in 1967, to explain and properly illustrate how the technical solutions pioneered by Enicar work. The book will therefore certainly be on a different quality level to what is only too often presented with manufacturer sponsored books.
On the other hand, it will also not be the typical amateur publication you find on Lulu and other self-publishing platforms. Size and professional design of the book provide a physical quality too.
I believe this is really a cause worth to be supported by watch enthusiasts. Without (financial) support of a manufacturer, it is almost impossible to publish such special interest books nowadays. Commercial publishers prefer the typical coffee table books with big photos, though, these rarely provide information a collector can work with.
