Yes the Atmos is wound by temperature change.
I know a few owners who live in a temperature controlled house where the change is less than 1 degree C. and the Atmos does not wind.

Is the Atmos clock powered by variations in temperature, or air pressure?

I think both influence the operation

(Plus variations in the owner’s blood pressure when watching it) There is a bellows filled with gas that expands and contracts, which pulls a chain that winds the clock. Cazalea ...

I just saw a demonstration of the process.

A one degrees variation in the temperature causes a contraction in the accordion like sphere. If you picture how an accordion contracts that is the same principle that causes the device to be wound. It acts like a heart beat in slow motion. And then there...

It is temperature

This causes expansion/contraction in the coil which winds the spring.

It needs Variation in temperature to work .
