I've never seen that Seiko before but then again I've also never really been interested in that particular brand. Although... My first "real" read: expensive (at the time for me) watch was in fact a Seiko. Upon inspection, a senior co-worker said to me: "Nice watch, wrong brand" and I was very unhappy wit ht that comment. In the meantime I know more about watches and can see his taste in a different light now.

My personal journey of a Richard Mille RM005 (2004) and a Seiko Galante (2012) SONY Nex7

Over the last 20 years, not every one can or is willing to pay $50,000 for a watch that has a potential for becoming a great talking piece, or better...a relevant artifact of history. The 2 watches I chose because they, to me, are icons of their own era a...

Nice Shots Bernard!

Really makes me want to get a DSLR! Richard Mille's are awesome!

Easier to use the Nex 7 with 2 torchlites (led)

Forget using flash.

I totally agree..RM005 was way too expensive..and I think it was done on purpose

It was all about status. Look at the "plastic" swatch like new models...and we will know that RM has a GOOD strategy, to make ALL of the old gold pieces have superb resale. I would love to own a solid gold RM rather than a "more costly" ti one.

based on Bernard's posts, I thought about the Seiko...

There just was not enough appeal for the price.

These Galantes are not cheap. BUT..

to me, well worth it. After 2 years..I have made up my mind to collect more. They represent the best of watchmaking using machines and practical means. BUT..that said, they are not to be compared with the way the Swiss do things..it is just VERY different...

I'd like to see more photos

How do you like the Sony? Cazalea

The Nex 7 is SUPERB..but a hard choice.

Today, I use a Sony RX1 for travel, and a nex7 for posts. The Nex is really good. The macro 30mm is very inexpensive.

I am a big fan of Seiko Galante myself. I believe the style, quality, and design synthesis of the line are under-rated, not to mention the beautiful Spring Drive electro-mechanical movement. Please feel free to post more pics and commentary! :-) Here are ...

WOW..I like the look of your watch. This Galante is one I do not have.
