My first real watch was an identical DJ to yours. My wife bought it for me in the '80s. I sold it a few years later to finance another watch. I've regretted selling it ever since.

I think the Datejust is a classic. I'd say it became a little dated looking in not too recent times, but seems to have 'come through' that and now looks right in any company.

This one with that bracelet is a classic!
