What comes closest to the pronunciation of the German word „Sinn“ is a mix of the English words Zen (or zoo) and „sin“.
You take the soft „s“ as in „zoo“ followed by „in“ as in „sin“ (short „n“)
So John and Markus (native German speaker) were right when they wrote that is is pronounced like „Zinn“.
Btw. The English translation of „Sinn“ is „sense“ as in „makes sense“ but also as in „five senses“. Both translations match.

And when I was in Dresden a few years ago a dealer trying to sell me a Sinn used a "z' sound. So I'm with Martin.
