After a literal long wait.

First post in a few months, apologies for the length.

The watch to the left, was my first ever non digital watch, given to me in the mid 90s by my parents, that triggered a lifelong interest in watches and horological things.

The watch to the right, was the watch I literally dreamt about while wearing the watch to the left; that I saw in an advert in GQ before the days of the Internet.

For the past (almost 20) years of my collecting watches, I would always remember the watch that I’d dream about as a student, and keep an eye out for one but could never find one. And if I did find an example, it was selling for a price I could not afford.

Until there was a seller who turned out to be a friend of a friend and I was able to negotiate. 🙂

Am immensely thankful to my watch friends for making this personal milestone happen, and I’m immensely thankful to the Lord above for His opportunities to work.

Dreams can come true. It sometimes just takes a little time. (Pun intended)

I would have to say that most of us here on this forum have been through a similar journey. Perhaps a moderator would like to start a "Tell us your story" thread. I think it would be an interesting and entertaining string of short stories. All the best......

Congrats on your GST!

I was deeply in love with the Ti version. Please, while setting the time be very gentle with the crown, do it slowly, day by day, it is VERY easy to jump a day of the week if you do it quickly. Trust me, I've seen it too many times. Service is costly. Enj...

Thanks for the post & congratulations

As an aside... recently acquired a SBGH037 that I would have never discovered if not for your extensive GS database! Kudos on amazing work.

Great story

Keep that first one. My first "real" watch was a Heuer Regatta and I lament letting go of it. Besides being a real watch....Not plastic, not quartz, not cheap (even if I did get it for a quartz crisis song) it was my first. Couldn't keep my first "real" g...
