First Breitling service experience since Kern took over
My graduation Breitling Aerospace is about to turn 19 and was in need of regular TLC recently. Being a quartz that’s an easy enough proposition, being a watch with an emotional connection, I have always let Breitling do the job.
And so far their service has always been impeccable both in speed and quality. I had little expectation that things would change under new management and was proven partially correct.
The quality, friendliness and care and attention still remained at the same level. What deteriorated, albeit still within acceptable bounds, was the speed. Where before the service was completed in two days the stated time is now two weeks. They did return it a day early, and in all honesty two weeks is hardly anything to cry over in the watch world (even if it’s only a battery, seals and WR testing). As someone working in management it strikes me as someone taking out costs, where they are not strictly essential. Might not be the case, who knows...
The strap choice for their 20mm lug width watches was also severely reduced.
Still happy to have it back, looking fresh for its 19, and waterproof enough for some 40 knots water fun the following day
Now if only they manage to undo the mantra their otherwise very competent staff keeps repeating (was the case before Kern, too) that men cannot wear watches under 43mm and 41 is the bare minimum for ladies and start producing watches accordingly, I may be in for another one
