The movement of the Opus 1

 

A few weeks ago, I had the chance to handle this Opus 1:



It is basically a redesigned Octa Reserve de marche and so, it is powered by the caliber 1300-3 by François-Paul Journe.

You know the classic decoration of the Journe movements:





The context of the Opus 1 gives us the opportunity to enjoy a different decoration style of the Journe movement:

It looks more simple but thanks to its sober style, some details are more visible than in the Journe context like the balance wheels, the gears and the wheels... We can also notice that the rotor is slightly off-centered.

Despite its small height (5,7mm), it features a large power reserve of 5 days for a 3z frequency. Its own diameter is 30,8mm.

I find that it was interesting to show you these pics because we don't see very often a Journe movement outside the F.P.Journe collection.
