To be fair, the first generation of this bracelet is a tank

My circa. 2005 Panograph with bracelet weighs more than my circa. 2005 Breitling Chrono Cockpit, a watch with the same diameter, but much thicker. Somewhat surprising, until you compare their respective bracelets. The Breitling Pilot bracelet set the standard in the 1990s, but today most watch bracelets are just as substantial.

This unnamed bracelet manufacturer supplies to other brands, such as Lange and IWC. Their work has been top notch in terms for at least ten years. With the clean ends, lack of hair pulling and easy link removal system, the technical aspects are probably the best in the business. This weight loss is a step in the right direction too.

Artistically, there is room to grow, though I think this particular bracelet design is perfect for these watches. Gay Frères is the only famous bracelet maker, but I think the modern watch collecting sphere is just about mature enough to begin giving coverage to some of the names and people behind these beautifully engineered bracelets, clasps, pin buckles and deployants. Certainly I’d like to see the watch brands give recognition to the bracelet makers once in a while.
