I have trouble with the level difference on the discs and that is the reason my Lange have no date. On the other hand, I love how Glashütte original has solved it.

Regarding the GO date, I owned a Senator Perpetual Calendar and its date didn’t jump at midnight like the new Lange one and its date for instance. But, maybe the new GO models with date have an instantaneous jump at midnight (I would say no nevertheless)....
I did not know the inspiration behind Lange's date windows. Yes, of course it is a personal taste. It is good that we enjoy different things, that is what makes the wonderful variety of everything in this world.
GO'd date has been by far better than Lange, since the beginning. Not only the old lange 1 took half an hour to set the date, but there's also a small misalignment of the windows. I'm aware that the Dresden opera watch is Lange's symbol, but it doesn't me...
