I have thought about hunting for a used GUB chronometer.
I even have a trace, but I would want to run it on my desk and they are said to be terribly loud. Now there are other projects to be handled first. Thank you and best regards, Martin

The depth is more in the lacquer than in the engraving in this case.
With the white dial it is the other way round.

. . . on her exquisite taste, and to you, Martin, for presenting us with such a considered report. Yes, a marine chronometer is also on my wish list, but on the back-burner presently. A modern wrist chronometer is far more compelling.

Indeed a new WEMPE Deck Chronometer is even more costly than a Senator Chronometer, but it comes in a wooden case only as opposed to a golden one ;-) Which one are you thinking/dreaming about? I would assume that it is the classical one, not the Regulator...
