Hi Calvong
Thanks for your post. What sort of watch is it (simple time-only or are there complications) and what is the age? Has your watch gone back to Switzerland and have you received a quote from GP directly? Normally GP would provide a detailed list of the work that needs to be done and then it’s up to you if you want to go ahead.
My experience with other companies is that they are reluctant to provide a quote, even on what is required for a 'routine' clean and lubrication, unless they have the watch in front of them. This applies even more to a vintage piece, where parts may need to be fabricated. The nice thing is that GP provide a restoration service for all their vintage watches, which is a very reassuring service to have.
Regards
Andrew
