The Laureato "Bol d'Or Mirabaud 2008" is the second child of the new partnership of Girard-Perregaux and Societe de Nautique Gèneve (SNG). It´s commemorating the famous yacht race: the Bol d'Or Mirabaud.
The 70th edition of the Bol d'Or Mirabaud represents a major event in the year of sport sailing. Between June 13 and June 15 of 2008, hundreds of classic sailing vessels will compete in Europe´s largest sailing turn to be held in a lakeside area.

In line with the maritime topic, Girard-Perregaux presents a strictly limited edition of just 30 units.
The Laureato Flyback chronograph combines modern design and traditional craftmanship in a watch waterproof up to 100m and thus particularly well equipped to withstand the threads aboard. The large case of 46mm is crafted of Titanium and secured by rubber coating in critical areas, such as the crown, pushers and bezel. The case front is finished with a matté surface treatment, reminding of anti-slipping surface structures to be found in many yachts and boarts.
The Laureato case size makes room for a large dial, which here turns into a practical feature do cater the need of sailsmen and captains! The Flyback-function allows to reset and restart timing sequences with just a click of the pusher. The extraordinarily large central second and minute counters allow for easy reading of the time elapsed, which is particularly important in the first 10 minutes of the yacht race. Therefore this time area has been visually highlighted by blue and red markers:
The new Laureato limited edition features broad luminous hands, which further improve legibility and easy use.
Flipping the watch over, the solid back features a commemorative engraving together with the Bol d'Or Mirabaud signatures and the individual number :
