Amanico, a respected voice in the WatchProSite community, shares his initial impressions of the Girard Perregaux Laureato 38 Copper. His detailed analysis highlights the watch's proportions, unique dial color, and design choices, offering a valuable first look for collectors considering this new reference. This article distills community reactions, providing a comprehensive perspective on its reception and perceived value.

Ooooh, here we have some very good news coming from Girard Perregaux which just unveiled the Laureato Copper.

Why such a joy from my side?

Because I always thought that the 38 mm case was the perfect size for this watch. Add to that a moderate height with only 10 mm, and you have superb proportions. With a water resistance of 100 meters, you will be able to swim with it.

That's for the case.

Now the dial is another reason to be happy. Till now, we had salmon, blue, red, black, copper has rarely been used in watches. And I find it enhances the vintage character of this watch in a superb way.

Ok, there is a date, but the vintage also had a date, and here, it has the good taste to match with the color of the dial.

As you can see, the hands and indices are filled with super luminova, which has a white glow in the dark. Good and consistent for a sports watch.

Well done, Girard Perregaux. Last good news, from what I understood, it is not a limited edition.

The bad news, the price, which is a bit " salty " : 15 000 Euros. And, as always, the too small movement. With its 25, 95 mm diameter, it is so small that it would deserve a solid case back, even it is nicely decorated.

At least, it offers a decent autonomy of 46 hours.

This could well be MY Laureato!

Looking forward to reading your comments and thoughts,

Best.

Nicolas

Too bad, deposit has been placed for another piece. You’d be proud of me on my next piece. It is very Nico-esque. GP playing it too safe recently by banging on the Laureatos. I wish they released the Seahawk once more, something brutal and fit for harder knocks.

This one convinces me too. It’s very well done. Next piece is around the same price as this, but from a brand starting with O. I believe you can induce/deduce what it is.=D

Because….. The date wheel matches the dial. Good attention to detail.

GP did it very well this time in my opinion Size and dial I will keep an eye on this one but my solace is that I own the skeleton so I’m equally happy

But it'll look more beautiful 😊 Yes, true the RO is very thin but as I grow old, I tend to like thin watches. Thank you Nico
