Girard-Perregaux Vintage 45, large date, moonphase, Ref 2580

Time to show a fresh shot of the original large date/moonphase Vintage 45 in the King Size case, Ref 2580.
Here you have the Club Italia Limited Edition to 50 pieces. The normal Ref 2580 was only available in precious metal cases, with the exception of two limited editions. One is the Club Italia as shown here with 50 pieces and there was another blue dial limited edition with 200 pieces.
When comparing it to its modern successor, a few things come to mind:
- The King Size case is not only smaller but more edgy
- The crown on the 2580 is bigger and much easier to operate
- The moonphase disc is coloured with dark blue sky and golden moon
- Overall, I find the dial design of the 2580 more harmonious, I much prefer the triangular arrow at 12 on top of the large date
- On the other hand, on the current version, the black date blends in better with the grey dial, but the dials are anyways very different as on the 2580 it is glossy black

I would be hard-pressed to choose which, if given the choice.
Your poinst are right-on. I would add that i like the Breguet numerals better, but two numbers fit the dial better. Anyway, cheers to you. It's another great GP in your collection.
