Hi all, long time lurker of this forum and first Vintage watch that's a GP. I was hoping to find some info with regards to the watch. I have just picked up this original owner GP DEEP DIVER GYROMATIC . The original owner purchased this watch in Papua New ...  

You've gotten hold of a great piece. It's one of my favorite vintage divers, as I find the unique hands and quirky treatment of the numerals to be charming. Is there specific information you are after regarding the watch that you didn't find after searchi... 

Hi Daos, thanks for the kind comments..... I have had a look through the archives(old post) and some models that are similar. The thing is , the model ref between the lugs of this GP deep diver is a 8867W. I was wondering how I go about finding more info ... 

These divers basically ran through into the 70s, and then the 80s saw the emergence of the Sea Hawk series of divers (a model name resurrected from GP's early waterproof watches). In the meantime, you might enjoy the vintage Deep Diver ads I posted today.... 

Dao, much appreciate and thank you in advance for looking for more info...... I had a look a the pictures as well... this watch appears to be for ladies ( which is quite interesting ) as its fairly big, (40/41mm) and quite thick.. I wear it and it would h... 

The case size is not apparent from the vintage ads, but the ladies diver is considerably smaller than the men's variant. Your watch, reference 8867W, is a gent's diver. It was produced in 1966, and per GP a total of 1,400 of this reference were produced. ...

Coincidentally, I have also just acquired one, similar to yours. However, the seller stated 'A vintage catalog mentions this model as reference 7006/model M3246BR18'. Like you, I would like to get more information, regarding this particular beauty.

I did manage to have a look at yours when searching for info. The dial/ movement/ caseback is very close to mine as well. Have a look between the lugs (underneath the 6'oclock marker) to find the modle number... it would be interest to see if it's the sam...

Sir The watch has been serviced and returned. I have checked for the model reference number and it says 8867 W and not what the seller stated, model reference 7006. Herewith are the pictures, showing the number. Thank you....
