Girard Perregaux

Friends, Now when I finally have been able to include the GP 1966 in my collection, I have started to look into what could be my next modern Girard-Perregaux… No, I am not in a hurry. I will enjoy the GP 1966 a lot before pulling the plug on the next one!...  

Almost because while you are on the Mermaid, I prefer the Cobalt Blue version, but I hesitate a lot with the Vintage 45. In reality, I think I have to think about building a collection of modern GPs, which would include a WW TC, a 1966, a Sea Hawk and thi... 

My big Q? is if I should go Art Deco or Sports? Vintage 1945 or Sea Hawk....? After that next Q+ will be which version ....?! Delisious dilema! :) Best Blomman

for me, I was also looking at a Chrono Hawk or Sea Hawk. I have recently tried on both at an AD and I had to admit to myself that both are a tad too large for my wrist. They still can sit comfortably, but it looks too big for my taste. I possibly got accu... 

Is a big change! :) A GP 1966 chrono I would also love to add, but I feel I need to address the Vintage 1945/Sea Hawk first before I go deeper into the GP 1966... A difficult, but fun mind game this is! :) Best Blomman

on the day of my visit to the AD, I wore my Laureato Evo3 Chrono, admittedly a large watch. But if the Laureato is XL then the Chrono Hawk is XXXL, I could not believe the visible difference between those two on the wrist, while nominally I think it is on... 

Or do my memory slip... I thought both are 44 mm?! But the case shape makes the Chrono Hawk look bigger. Best Blomman

the Evo3 is spec'd with 42.6mm, while the Chrono Hawk is 44mm. In reality and on the wrist, it's like a BMW X3 versus a Cadillac Escalade... Anyways, it needs to be tried and judged personally, for me, probably too big.

I just didn't focus on the Vintage 1945 in this post.... It will be a hard task to select the right Vintage 1945 (to start with, because I fear that is a watch you NEED to have in several different versions)! :) Best Blomman

.. Strong, almost brutal presence & strong color accents.. To be honest, none of those is really my type of " Spiel", Everything to me seems big or simply too much .. For humble me, there would be much more appealing offers by GP, whereby the Saphire dial... 

Until I saw it in real and tried the Sea Hawk on my wrist! Now I thinking more in the lines of.... Will one be enough?! :) Best, my friend Blomman

Dear Blomman, In my humble opinion, you simply cannot afford not to get the 1945 sapphire dial, it is in category not comparable with the Seahawks. And once you are done with the 1945, you can choose among the others :) The cobalt blue/orange version look... 

You are correct! :) The Sapphire dial will be hard not to go for...! But my desire to get several Sea Hawk's (yes it is there) is not as strong as getting several Vintage 1945. So if I start with the Vintage 1945, it will take me longer to get to the Sea ...
