Girard Perregaux

ww.tc financial

After years of drooling, I finally have funds available to purchase a ww.tc which has been my grail. The model I favour is the 49805-11-255-BA6A and there is a fantastic review of it on this forum.

Two questions before I pull the trigger to any owners out there:

1. I have it as a screensaver at work and while in Paris this week, I had a business call with New Zealand. It was 10.30 in Paris and at the end of the call while looking at the dial, I said to my colleagues that I'd let them go as it was now 21.30 in NZ. They replied it was only 20.30. I guess the difference being Daylight Saving. Is there a rule of thumb you use to ensure you have the right time taking Daylight Saving into account? I'd feel frustrated buying the piece only to have to guess time within an hour. I know JLC have "Summer" marks on their dial but I did not find the Master World Geo. comfortable and the new Master Geo. I find difficult to read. As Patek and the new VC do not take account of Daylight Saving, I hope/assume there is a knack to getting round the problem.

2. I travel a lot. Where would you say is the best place to buy? What is a typical discount on GP? I do not haggle to the point of it taking over the pleasure of the purchase but have found that when buying my Omega I was readily offered 15% and 10% with Rolex and JLC. As GP's are not reknowned for retaining value, should I be looking for more discount as the norm?

Finally, I drove down to the Gstaad boutique yesterday as I am also tempted by the Sea Hawk and the Laureato but like an idiot did not ring first lol. So after a 2 hour drive, it was closed. To save everyone else this same frustration, it is closed until 01 June.

Any advice greatly appreciated and I hope to be joining you as an owner soon!
