The NYTIMES today published an article about Japanese whisky. Turns out it isn’t always Japanese and it isn’t always whisky- at least by international standards. Whoda thunkit!

I love JP whiskies and own some. Hakushu 18 and 12 being my favourites.

They will learn their lesson and in source again, but that might be too late...

Some brands import Canadian and relabel it.

Some take imported and blend it with their own. And some make "whisky" from things other than grains. Like sweet potato.
