Very cool, Robert.....

very good question you are posing. Its a yes from me. Not in as radical a way as it changed yours.

Just like Jay, I will first say I have met some incredible people along the way, starting on this platform in 2004. It is incredible how far some people will go for their passion. It has also taught me about my passion and how lucky I am that I am feeling passion. I have found out there are a lot of people who dont feel deeply passionate about anything. Passion can be a curse but it is also a blessing!

Developing my  own taste and finding what "I" like - instead of liking what other collectors like has been one of the best moments. I feel I have "been around the block" and tried the different things I wanted to explore. Finally finding my own path has been a major satisfaction. Im a bit stuck now in what I like and that has slowed down my watch purchases. Im totally fine with that and I only want few adjustments and additions in my collection now.

This journey has also taught me some very valuable lessons about people - good and bad. People are not always what they appear to be. Good or bad!

Studying this esoteric bubble that is horology has taught me so many invaluable specifics I would not be without. I still have so much more I want to learn so there is also the an impact on my life in the future - Im sure. The reward is the journey!

I wish you good luck with the clocks. they look so cool. I look forward to meeting you in the new year and seeing these pieces.

My apprenticeship as a watchmaker ends in the new year and I can call myself a watchmaker. 😊 Has your interest in watches had a major impact on your life? * The picture is a mix of my F.P TN and a print of Norman Rockwell's "What Makes it Tick" 1948. I wi...

Festive greetings Robert …

You are certainly reaching a significant moment in your career and I wish you well for the future. My interest in watches has given great pleasure and occasionally a little pain along the way, but this passion isn’t going away anytime soon, I’m in for the...

And a happy New Year to you and your family as well 😊

Regarding regrets. Haven't we all been there, especially regretting the watch purchase you did not make in time 😔

Excellent picture.

You framed the poster very nicely. Happy New Year to you.

I would state the obvious, the largest impact has been in meeting people I wouldn’t otherwise have met.

And as a secondary, going to places where I might not otherwise have gone. In terms of your watchmaking journey, what is next then?

Those are intriguing Robert, especially the elaboration around the nixie tubes. It’s a cool looking overall package.

So for the workshop, it would be for repairs, special projects etc? What would your competency be? I’m sure many here are keen to hear more of your story; I’ll bet many harbor a dream of doing what you have done. If I won the lottery, or someone left a su...

Exciting that you share the same dream

Born in 1958 and I have been in good positions throughout my life, so it has given me the opportunity to realize this dream. As a trained watchmaker, I can service wristwatches, pocket watches, and clocks and I will start a production of Steam Punk Clocks...

Congratulations with this great achievement.

I totally agree with you, when one's passion can be shared with interesting and giving people, then it really is a blessing. Christian I look forward to seeing you in the new year😊
