very good question you are posing. Its a yes from me. Not in as radical a way as it changed yours.
Just like Jay, I will first say I have met some incredible people along the way, starting on this platform in 2004. It is incredible how far some people will go for their passion. It has also taught me about my passion and how lucky I am that I am feeling passion. I have found out there are a lot of people who dont feel deeply passionate about anything. Passion can be a curse but it is also a blessing!
Developing my own taste and finding what "I" like - instead of liking what other collectors like has been one of the best moments. I feel I have "been around the block" and tried the different things I wanted to explore. Finally finding my own path has been a major satisfaction. Im a bit stuck now in what I like and that has slowed down my watch purchases. Im totally fine with that and I only want few adjustments and additions in my collection now.
This journey has also taught me some very valuable lessons about people - good and bad. People are not always what they appear to be. Good or bad!
Studying this esoteric bubble that is horology has taught me so many invaluable specifics I would not be without. I still have so much more I want to learn so there is also the an impact on my life in the future - Im sure. The reward is the journey!
I wish you good luck with the clocks. they look so cool. I look forward to meeting you in the new year and seeing these pieces.
