This is why the ones that came only in one size of 40 (CT, TN, UTC, etc) have thicker bezels.
The CS was originally designed as a 40. The 38 came later hence the thinner bezel.
The CO’s original design was a 42 as well. That’s why the 40 has a thin bezel.
This applies to all references across the board. There are no 40mm only sized references with thin bezels. The 40s you’ve seen with thin bezels always have a 42 sized equivalent.

I Think it is primarily in the Octa line. It’s primarily those that was previously offered in the 38mm or 40 mm options that were given a redesign of the dial so that they are now offered in the 40 and 42 mm options. It makes sense when you think about it...
I guess I don’t understand why all 40mm bezels would not be the same. It’s a visual thing, but I could never get over the fat bezels.
I was sure someone at a Boutique told me two or more years ago that all 40mm cases would have this thinner bezel but I guess not.

But it seems for older references one could have the same watch with a different 40mm case (fat and skinny bezels). What I’m comparing is cases of the same size, 40mm, but with different thickness of bezel.

I love my optimum and I have a small wrist.
No problems with the 40mm Journes for me. The lug to lug measurement is under 48mm which is maximum for my wrist.

This particular 40 mm case, as well as the CO case, work fine for you. At least from my perspective. It does matter if you are comfortable with it.

40 mm is certainly not a big watch, it is very sporty looking to me which is how I'd wear it.
