The Chronometre Furtif Bleu sells for 2 million CHF at ONLYWATCH 2024
A very good result for this new piece. It doesn’t reach Journes record at ONLYWATCH at 4,5 mio CHF for the ground breaking and very complex FFC but this was expected as this years offering is a more humble 3 hand timepiece with a moonphase display on the back.
The Furtif holds promise of new and interesting things coming from FP Journe. The gorgeous new caliber 1522 is extremely interesting with its complication displayed on the back to keep a simple dial on the front. A concept I guess will be elaborated in the future. Also Journes dial fabrication Cadraniers de Geneve have been building a strong capacity for making enamel dials in recent years also supplying other brands and independents with dials. Fiially we are all cheering for more Tantalum cases and particularly that tantalum bracelet.

Given the moonphase is on the back…
how does FPJ envision it to be practically used/enjoyed? Granted, no one actively refers to the moonphase for anything, so is the whole idea that there is a surprise on the back to see when you take off the watch (similar to the Omega Snoopy rocket ship)?...
I am surprised it didn’t go for a higher price.
And I’m not even joking. Perhaps bc Christie’s website was down for “security reasons.” I.e. hacked imho.

I can only dream of it.🤣 I work with Tantalum a bit but using fr watch always puzzle me. It a strong, light material and radiopaque but a bit over the top to use fr watch IMO. The only reason I see it being use is to show others their ability to work with...
