Well said Stephen. For me the price of platinum never part of my consideration each time I bought one. Instead I've always just been attracted to the brilliance of the metal. This is evident especially when you put it side by side with a wg watch next to one in platinum. The wg is always seems so dull. Scratches are never a concern with platinum. Someone in this forum once said it reminded them of pushing snow with a shovel. In fact it does when you look under a loop.
