Brad,
I have a few questions about the Calendrier. Perhaps "Newbie", but I'd appreciate your thoughts
I notice that the date jump hand moves forward about 15 minutes prior to the hr. I love this piece, but technically speaking, how does the mechanism work, and why not a date move precisely on the minute of midnight (similar to a chronograph minute hand).
I understand that the Calendrier is the only Annual Calender that has all functions set by the crown, (and, just thinking out loud... may be the only annual or perpetual that has a jump hand date and, has all functions set by crown). My thinking is that the piece, given its technical advancement using precise momentum of the jump hand to change the month function, along with the Octa movement) is unique. Am I correct.
Finally... I understand that FPJ doesn't want to simply replicate pieces similar to what others have done. I was initially hesitant adding the Calendrier in that I was concerned that Journe would come up with a perpetual based Calendrier. While presumably he would reinvent such a piece (and hopefully charge enough on the perpetual so that the Calendrier market value wasn't uprooted), do you have any suspicions that FPJ will launch anytime in the near future a perpetual?
Thanks so much; I love how the FPJ section of Watch Pro has continued to flurish since you became the moderator and continued a wonderful legacy!
