The Resonance should be for all watch enthusiasts/collectors unmistakably Journe. It’s the reason I always answer “Resonance” to those questions about which watch most easily identifies the brands or which is Journe’s most defining piece etc. Also here yo...  

... for Chaykin while the Joker etc brought a higher global profile and surely cash flow he might wish to be more associated with his complicated watches and clocks.

I have been following him for many years and always visited him at BW . His other creations are marvels too imho.

I remember you having them together in NY, along with your Laine. In the past I tended to overlook the Resonance, probably because my one encounter with it was with a watch that didn't work very well. And I think I am skeptical that this thing really does... 

As we discussed before, the Resonance does appear to have been a temperamental old soul and so user experiences vary.

I agree with what you said , Jay. To me, the Resonance is the most iconic. I also know very sophisticated Journe collectors who say the Tourbillon. The clown I was lucky to see in Paris in December. I never understood it until I saw it. It just put a big ... 

I think that’s the right sentiment. Perhaps we need a little more of that. I think MB&F is built in large part on this same sentiment, if they ever stoped to think “why” we would have never seen those crazy Horological Machines.

That doesn’t happen bu making a list of all the nice “ingredients”and putting them together. A vision is needed. Watches are not necessary- they have have to inspire us. If they don’t do that they are at best, expensive accessories or status symbols. I th...
