Patek Philippe

To wind or not to wind?

I recently purchased a Patek Philippe 5135G after aspiring to own a Patek for many years. I am thrilled with this piece and intend to pass it on to my son as a family heirloom.

Presently I keep the watch on a winder because of the annual calendar functionality, However I am now questioning this strategy as I seldom seem to wear it, only on special occasions mainly due to the fact I don't want to ding it. Realistically I will probably only wear it around a dozen times a year. This is no botheration as I have several fine watches to rotate.

Should I just keep it boxed and wind it fortnightly to stop the oils becoming viscous? thus reducing unnecessary fiction on the moving parts, Or should I persevere with the winder?.
