the Dato Question
i'm debating between datos. obviously the platinum is the classic, can't go wrong original dato. i've also looked at the 1815 chrono in white gold, and not sure why but it just didn't do it - even though i came into the AD ready to buy.
the red gold dato/black face is very warm, but i have 2 other rg lange's so not sure if i'm indulging in overkill in terms of rg (an 1815 automatic rg/light face and an 1815 rg/black face anniversary moon). i've also got a wg/blue face L1 which is probably my all time favorite watch (though not a popular seller apparently). so you can see i'm a bit of a lange nut.
my other option is the first L-1 i ever saw, the rg/black face i saw 10 years ago that started all this craziness. it's in its own category, that of a watch i've wanted so long that i think it will never live up to expectation and thus i'm better off without.
anyhow, i know may on this board feel passionately about the data as being perhaps the iconic lange so i would be very interested in all of your opinions.
